Paul Clifton Anthony George (Palmdale, California, May 2, 1990) is an American basketball player who plays for the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers.
At 2.06 meters tall, he plays in the forward position. George began playing basketball at Knight High School before playing two college basketball seasons at Fresno State University.
He was selected by the Pacers in the tenth selection of the 2010 NBA Draft. In 2013, he was selected to play his first NBA All-Star Game, received the NBA’s Most Improved Player award, and was named in the NBA’s Third Best Team and NBA’s Second Best Defensive Team.
His university career was developed in Fresno State, playing two years in the Bulldogs. In his first campaign, he averaged 14.3 points, led the team with 6.2 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.7 steals per game.
He was one of the top 15 freshman scorers in the NCAA and completed six double-doubles with the Bulldogs.
In his second and final season at Fresno State, George was the team’s top scorer with 16.6 points, plus 7.1 rebounds, and was part of the second-best five at the Western Athletic Conference.
George attended the Pete Knight Institute, wherein his senior season he averaged 25 points, 12 rebounds and 3 assists per game.
He was named MVP of the Golden League, Antelope Valley Press Player of the Year and was a member of the Daily News 2007-08 All-Area Boys team.
In his junior year, he signed 14 points and 8 rebounds per game.
